How my team turned into Fast & Furious meets Mission Impossible… all because someone had a flight to catch!

It was a perfect picnic day with the team with great food, laughter, and memories being made. The real adventure began as the Sun set. One of our team members had a flight to catch from Pune, 140 km away! Someone checked Google Maps. BOOM! The airport looked more unreachable than my fitness goals!

It was a one mission with two cars. The “express” car zoomed with the flyer and the backup car followed closely with a plan to be ready to rescue him if the first car broke down.

The war room over WhatsApp chat group went live!

One teammate tried all possible faster routes in Google maps (like he is planning a heist. Eh! We did discuss Ocean’s 11 and The Italian Job movies during the journey)

Another one called the metro helpline, “How frequent?”, “How long?”, “Station A to Station Z journey time?” (He was like, “can we bribe the driver to skip stops?”)

Someone booked metro tickets faster than people booking Coldplay’s concert tickets over BookMyShow!

Meanwhile, someone renamed WhatsApp group to “Bajarangi Bhaijaan” (because like Salman Khan crossing borders to get the young girl to her destination, here they were crossing cities, dodging traffic, and breaking speed records for their friend from the fate of missing his flight)

The express car narrowly escaped traffic jams twice. Was it a Luck? A divine intervention? Did the car gods finally answered their prayers? Who knows!

One team member escorted flyer into the metro just as the doors were about to close. Talk about timing!

A brilliant idea struck in one member’s shining brain to have our journey chap get off two stations early, grab an auto. Genius!

Our hero reached the airport 50 minutes before departure. We beat google GPS which was saying he could reach just 30 minutes before!

When team got the message, “I am finally on the flight!”, they celebrated like they had won the World Cup.

Just then everyone realized that their stomachs are singing the ‘I am hungry’ songs at 1130 pm!

But this story is not just about catching a flight. It is about something much bigger.

It is about how real teamwork does not need formal settings or official tasks. It is about a group of people who did not hesitate to put their personal time and energy into helping a teammate. No one said “not my problem” or “I am off work.” Instead, everyone jumped in with whatever they could offer – whether it was quick thinking, problem-solving, or just being there as backup.

I saw-
-Split-second decision making
-No ego
-Plan A, B, C without anyone being asked
-Support without questions or complaints
-Celebrate success together
